BASK’s architecture encapsulates a harmony of mid-century, open plan living and a contemporary spin on indigenous structures, inspired by neighbouring fishing hamlets.

THE RESORT

While also offering sanctuary and seclusion, owners and guests of BASK’s 87 luxury villas will have full access to the resort’s facilities which will include a restaurant, cocktail lounge, beach bar, beachfront infinity pool and spa.

Situated on the number 1 beach in Indonesia (as voted by Trip Advisor), guests of this Gili Meno resort will have access to an array of activities including world-class diving, stand up paddle boarding, fishing, surfing, hiking and more.

The waters are home to an abundance of exotic species and rare turtles, as well as Nest - an artistic and environmental underwater project from acclaimed artist Jason DeCaires Taylor.

BEACH CLUB

Offering an expanse of white sand, crystal clear waters and an infinity pool, the future driven beach club will be the cultural epicentre of BASK Gili Meno.

The separate areas of the beach club will provide something for everyone. From the open plan kitchen offering a theatrical cooking experience and a myriad of local, regional and international dishes by world renowned chefs, to our unique underwater bar, SPLASH, and sunken terraced lounges which provide a one-of-a-kind outlook.

The layered poolside terrace and beach bar will be home to an international line up of music and live entertainment, while indoor the world-class restaurant, cocktail lounges and the SPLASH underwater bar will offer seclusion for the sun-conscious patron. The beach club will also feature a rooftop function area for weddings, private events and in-house activities such as rooftop yoga.

BASK Gili Meno’s restaurant will feature an extensive and diverse fitting of the islands cultural surroundings. With an open kitchen, guests will have access to a menu curated by an authentic and globally renowned chef. The restaurant seeks to reflect the resort’s ethos of contemporary sophistication paired with laidback island custom. Incorporating local produce will be the feature of an innovative menu with a variety of Western and Asian flavours driving a fresh and seasonal approach to relaxed, yet refined dining. Gili Meno is a secluded natural paradise, hosting an abundance of tropical wonders. BASK is located on an expansive white sand beach, just metres from the water’s edge, providing opportunity for guests to swim and snorkel in clear blue waters that are home to picturesque coral reefs, diverse varieties of marine life and a sanctuary for ancient species of turtles.

Diving

The Gili Islands are known for their idyllic location, natural beauty and world-renowned dive spots. The wonderfully warm, tropical waters offer amazing visibility and an incredible array of aquamarine life including turtles, sharks, rays and over 950 species of fish. With the reputation for being the ‘Turtle Capital of the World’ and with over 25 dive sites, the Gili Islands are one of Indonesia and the world’s top scuba diving and snorkeling locations.

Only 800 metres from the BASK beachfront, you’ll find The Meno Wall, renowned for its thriving hawksbill and green turtle populations. Southward, the Bounty Wreck is brilliantly ensconced by coral varietals. To the north, Simon’s Reef offers divers a rare chance to discover the camouflaged pygmy seahorse in its native home.

BASK is also proud to house BASK Nest, a stunning underwater work by the globally celebrated artist Jason deCaires Taylor. Located 40 metres from the calm white sandy shore of the resort’s exclusive beach club, this living sculpture is a site-specific artificial reef designed to attract corals and undersea life for human encounters. Taylor’s artistic achievements have met with consistent acclaim. In 2014, he was crowned with the prestigious Foreign Policy Global Thinker award, standing alongside previous recipients including Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany and Indian Prime Minister Narenda Modi. Wholly unique, Taylor’s wonder-below-the-waves is easily accessible to all and puts the resort firmly on the map of the international art world.
